Unfortunately the review process can be a bit frustrating because it usually will turn into a he said she said and ultimately the owner saying the obligatory" this is not the way we do business give me a call and we will make it right, but in this case it's never going to happen" I WILL PREFACE by saying that it's interesting that this company touts how they fight the insurance companies and will never use aftermarket parts, will always do right by the customer, and blah blah blah... but buyer beware, it's only if you go through insurance and then still I would question their work. I brought my wife's car in about a month ago for repair but we wanted to pay out of pocket because we had some issues with our insurance company and we didn't want to make a claim for a small dent and a few scratches. It was apparent to me from the get-go is that the estimator was just punching in "point and click" boxes on the computer that was just tallying up usually what they would charge the insurance company. When I tell you that this was a small dent and a small scratch on the front quarter panel I'm not exaggerating. The INITIAL estimate that I got from DB was $3,000, and where the problems between myself and DB started was when I started questioning the overlapping, DUPLICATW charges and the miscellaneous charges that were just piling up it, was clear when I was looking at the estimation sheet that it was not for someone who would be paying out of pocket, it was for billing an insurance company AND PADDING the expenses. My questioning the expenses really brought out a temperament in this company like I never expected. They were very frustrated with me that I would question them and I knew it was because 99% of their business goes through insurance and the customer never questions the charges because the insurance company pays them. THEN, the next day they called me and told me because they talked to the manufacturer (mercedes)of the car they were going to have to add $1,000 more to the bill for calibration of the front bumper and the side mirror. (BTW, The shop its at now charges $100 total, when I told them what DB was gonna charge me, the laughed) So now we were looking at 4,000! I tried to negotiate with them for them to drop $500 off of the bill which I thought was reasonable based on multiple duplicate charges on the estimate.. AT THIS POINT, WE WERE TOLD TO COME PICK UP THE CAR AND THEY WOULD NOT WORK ON IT!. And then of course they told me that they already had the front bumper and side panel off and I would have to come in a couple days and get it so they could put the car back together. So a.week at their shop, no work done! We picked up the car and as frustrated as I was I kept telling myself there's a reason for this and something better will come of it. Sure enough I took it to a reputable competitor and they're doing it for less than half the amount that DB quoted me. On top of that, and the real reason why I'm now leaving this review, is that when they took the front bumper and side panel off my car (they just sent me pictures) DB left a lot of the body and panel screws off the car, they broke one of the other mounting tabs and stripped 2 others! now I'm going to have to pay extra parts and labor to the new company that is now fixing the car because of DB not putting the car back together properly. And I don't want to hear from them that " that's the way it was when they got it" because number one, nobody has ever worked on the car before, and the second thing is because they're such a " for the people" body shop they would have told me just like this new company told me that this was going on before they even started to work. STAY AWAY FROM DB!
